This darling watch-style locket dates to the earliest days of Queen Victoria's long reign. Both sides of the 14k gold locket are embellished with engine-turned engraving; the front is engraved with flowers, and the back has a small round plaque that may be engraved with an initial. The locket is framed in gold sculpted to resemble a plait and has a stationary bale with a free-moving jump ring. A hinged door opens to reveal an empty compartment ready to receive a photograph, lock of hair, or whatever small item you like. A high quality and desirable locket, in very nice condition. Circa 1840.

Details.....The locket measures 1" in diameter and 1.16" with bale. In Very Good Antique Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique pieces; we consider it part of the charm.
